Finishing Up

Friday I stayed home with Aunt Lori and everyone else went to finish Cezar's house. They visited a house that was build in memory of my Grammy Jan a few years ago but it was gone. The family moved and took the house with them. We stayed at Mark and Lori's last night and we will stay tonight. We fly to Miami tomorrow and stay one night there and then fly to Boston on Monday morning. See you all soon.

Hello Everyone from John Fuller. We just read all of your questions and we hope to answer them all in this email. First of all I miss all of you too! It is very warm here but we like it. It is hard to build a house since we have to carry all the equipment and wood up the mountain by hand. It takes a long time to do that. We have built homes for 3 families in 1 week! We are not near the ocean and we do not have a pool where we stay. We are staying at a mission house on top of a mountain. They make us breakfast every morning and everyone eats together. I have not climb trees but have climbed up onto walls while building. There are many dogs here, they live on the streets and in the mountains, many of them do not have enough food and water. We have seen few cats but the ones we have seen are sick from no food and shelter. I really love it here and have made good friends with one family of children, they live alone but their big brother Joni takes care of them. Their names are Melvin, Onada, Mirna, and Mario. Their Cousin Christian is who we buy Christmas for each year. The children in the mountains love to get present but more s they love to see us and get hugs. Thank you for your questions. Wednesday I went with Unlce Mark,Aunt Lori, Uncle Donny, Aunt Cheryl and Erin to visit Daniela and her family. Uncle Donny and Aunt Cheryl have been friends with Daniela for a few years. We took Daniela to visit some children at the orphanage and played on the trampoline. My Mom, Dan, Aunt Sharon, Unlce Pete, Chrystal, Ryan, JC and Venessa went on a hike in the rain foret to a large water fall. They said is was the haredst hike ever. Thursday we all went back to Melvins village and started a new house for a young family that will have a baby soon. We are going back today to finish it.

MHionday, Tuesday and Today

HiAll I have limited internet time so I am trying to keep these short and will fill you all in with details later. Monday Mark and Lori are good friends with a boy named Melvin. On Monday we went to his village to deliver gifts. My family and I have been sending gifts to a boy named Christian for a few years and he lives in the same village as Melvin. We were able to deliver him gifts and meet him for the first time. We also went to another village to deliver gifts to a different family. Tuesday We delivered some more gifts to a different village and then we took a ride into the mountains and saw the oldest catholic church in Central America, Santa Lucia, it was built in the late 1400's. We also visited a small shopping village and got some gifts to bring home. It is called Valley of the Angels. Today I am visiting a village with my Uncle Donny and Uncle Mark and then to an orphange to deliver some supplies and play with the kids. My dad and mom are going hiking in the rain forest. It's about 70 - 80 degrees here, any snow at home???

The First Five Days

The first day we spent 3.5 hours in a plane from Boston to Miami and then 3.5 hours in a different plane from Miami to San Pedro Sula Hondurus. After that we spent 4 hours in a van driving to Tegucigalpa. We got to see Aunt Loris and Uncle Marks house and then went to the Villa Gracia Mission house where we are staying.

The first day here a few of us went to a little village and put up four posts for the two new houses that we were going to build. We had to dig holes in the dirt for the posts that are the big beams in the corners of the houses.

The next day everyone got here and we all went back to the village and built two houses. Uncle Mark knows how build them and does it alot so he showed us what to do. I got to be good friends with a lot of new kids and worked on nailing with my friend Moses and my cousin Will.

The third day, Saturday, my cousin Carly married Kyle and I got to walk my aunt Cheryl into the church. We went to a big party after the wedding and danced alot with all my cousins.

On Sunday, today, we had a big brunch with everyone because most of the other people are leaving today and tomorrow. We played soccer on the field at the mission house for a long time.

We have had a hard time finding time to keep up with posting but we will try everyday to write.

Honduran Flag is composed of 3 equal horizontal stripes, with the upper and lower ones being blue and representing the Pacific Ocean and Caribbean Sea. The central stripe is white. It contains five blue stars representing the five states of the Central American Union. The middle star represents Honduras, located in the center of the Central American Union. The legislation designating this design for the flag of Honduras passed into law on January 18, 1949.
Children's Day or Dia del Niño, is celebrated in homes, schools and churches on September 10; on this day, children receive presents and have parties similar to Christmas or birthday celebrations. Some neighborhoods have piñatas on the street.
Soccer or Futbol is the main sport in Honduras.

My Aunt Lori and my uncle Mark now live in Honduras. They both have committed their lives to missionary work. My Aunt Lori is Co founder of Mi Esperanza:
Mi Esperanza means “My Hope” and began in 2002 with a vision to provide assistance for women in the villages surrounding Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Lori began her love for the country and people of Honduras in 1999, that is when she took part in her first mission trip. She immediately was struck by the hardship and distress the women in the comm unties live. She knew that there had to be something more that could be done, something that would change the future of the women and their children and stabilize their lives. Both My Uncle mark and my Aunt Lori are part of the Honduras Project. The Honduras Project works side by side with a variety of established faith-based, non-profit organizations, government entities, schools, and children’s homes. They also partner with multiple local churches, comunities, ministries, and individuals as they seek out opportunities to serve the people of Honduras. Along side these groups they build homes for families and schools for communities.
